Scaffolding Project Manager Trent Mills began his oil and gas career in 1997. His first industry job was at Bay Offshore as a helper. Throughout his 21 years there, he worked mostly offshore. His career progressed, and he earned the role of superintendent.
In January 2018, Trent made the move to Danos, joining as a scaffolding superintendent. Trent’s leadership ability and high performance attracted the attention of Scaffolding Operations Manager Clay Daugherty who asked Trent to join the staff as project manager several times. Finally, Clay was able to convince him that he was the right man for the job. Trent transitioned from scaffolding superintendent to the staff project manager position in March 2022.
“Trent was one of our top scaffolding superintendents. His technical knowledge, leadership qualities and ability to get along with his crews demonstrated that he’d make a great project manager. I was pleased when he agreed to accept his new role, and since transitioning, he’s proven to be an excellent fit,” said Operations Manager Clay Daugherty.
In Trent’s current role, he works with customers and manages relationships with Danos personnel—regularly communicating with them, managing their training, their jobs, etc. He frequently visits work sites to keep up with these relationships. While he is enjoying his new role, it is different from his previous field work.
“One of the biggest differences from my previous work to my new role is that offshore, you’re able to focus in on one specific job or area at a time. Now, there is a lot going on at once,” says Trent. “It’s a good challenge!”
A native of Paincourtville, LA, Trent and his wife Joan live in Schriever. The couple has three adult children, 2 daughters and one son, and two grandsons. When he’s not working or spending time with his family, he enjoys fishing and carpentry, which he learned from his grandfather.
