Energy Transition Strategy

Energy Transition Strategy

By: Eric Danos |
Owner and Member of the Danos Board of Directors

Our energy transition strategy is exploring the future of Danos in a rapidly changing world. This year, during our 75th anniversary, we are reflecting on our successful history and, at the same time, applying forward thinking to how we will express our purpose for another 75 years. Few companies can plan decades into the future like this, which is extremely exciting!

Our executive team, with the help of others in the organization, is constantly evaluating how the energy market is adapting. We talk to customers, read studies, watch what governments are doing – all to understand how the market will evolve. We believe that over the next few decades the world will produce and consume energy differently; therefore, we must be different too.

We started this journey of change when we agreed to internally develop iCAN and i2MS. Both home-grown start-ups are building capability and now finding success. Even though both companies are young, iCAN and i2MS are helping Danos access opportunities we did not have before. I love how these two start-ups have created development opportunities for our employees and are bringing diverse ways of thinking and working into our organization. This will make us better.

One of our other initiatives is considering adding other businesses to our portfolio. We are looking at companies who are doing things differently than Danos which could be a part of our organization. We have an active and growing pipeline of these companies. As you might expect, we will be very selective. This could mean we will have to look through many opportunities to find the right ones.

As we change and grow, we are equally committed to the things that make us special – purpose, values, and culture – while also being committed to adapting our business to be relevant in a world that changes. I am looking forward to seeing how we will be successful together in ways that have not yet been discovered.
