Earlier this year, the Danos Foundation distributed checks to The Salvation Army. The money went to their Houma and Lafayette, Louisiana, branches through Danos GIVES grants.
Since then, the organization has been all hands-on deck regarding COVID-19.
With the $2,500 from Danos GIVES, the Houma chapter has been working with community partners to help those in need to fill the gap through utility and rental assistance.
The Lafayette group has used their $2,500 grant for community feeding, which has been especially helpful during COVID-19. To date they have administered over 6,500 meals, and they continue to serve in neighborhoods helping those in need. In particular, the organization has seen a significant increase in need for children and the elderly.
Thank you to our partners at The Salvation Army for your work and doing the most good.
