Last month Danos Corporate Controller Melissa Adams participated in a day-long board retreat with the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce.

A four-year Chamber board member, Melissa joined the board to serve her community and Danos, as well as to grow professionally.

Melissa said the retreat provided an opportunity for board members to set the stage for next year and beyond.

“The retreat was very rewarding,” she said. It was a day to interact with colleagues and to understand the challenges we currently face in the Houma-Terrebonne area.  We participated in making short-term and long-term goals for the chamber as well as for the specific committees, such as government and infrastructure activities, which I serve on.

We learned about leading key indicators in our economy as well as key issues affecting our area, including zoning and redistricting, insurance changes, hurricane relief and rebuilding.”

Being involved with the chamber has allowed Melissa to increase her knowledge about government and infrastructure projects and how that affects her community and Danos.
