A Message from Owner Mark Danos
Let’s push pause for a moment and think back to the 300+ year old oak trees that Paul and Eric referenced in prior weeks – standing tall and proud at the entrance to our headquarters building. These grand trees set the tone for everything around them because they have endured and stood the test of time. Their strength comes from the trials that they have faced, the storms that they have withstood. Although uninvited, the storms have played a significant and necessary role in their growth. What has also been necessary and significant in shaping these grand trees is the natural pruning that has taken place with each passing season. Without that, the trees would not have had a chance to flourish and grow into what they are today.
It is clear that we are currently in the midst of a storm that is significantly pruning our industry. The outcome will be an oil and gas landscape that looks entirely different one, two or five years from now.
Our executive team is well aware of the challenges ahead and is working hard to position us to respond. The situation is fluid. We do not have all the answers, nor do we know all of the challenges that lie ahead, but we are confident in our approach. There is no other team that I would rather be facing these challenges with. I have confidence in our ability to not only survive these challenges but thrive. Just as the industry will look different as a result of the current difficulties, Danos will look different as well, but the process will make us stronger, better and more able to solve the challenges of our changing industry.
Strong companies get stronger through downturns. We have a 73-year history of rising above challenges, and that will continue – standing tall and proud in our communities and our industry. I am confident of this because we have great people that make up this organization and a great purpose that guides our path forward.
In the coming days and weeks, you will begin to see our approach take action. Your role in that is vital. As the plan takes shape, my request of you is to stay focused on your safety and the safety of your family, remain open and flexible, keep a long-term perspective and bring your best every day.
