Danos Day with NextOp
In an effort to be intentional about attracting and building a diverse pipeline of candidates, Danos hosted the first ever Danos Day with NextOp on May 25 at headquarters in Gray, Louisiana.
While attendees had the opportunity to interview with Danos recruiters, the overall objective of the event was to help military and veteran career seekers gain insight into the oil and gas industry. In addition to Danos and NextOp, representatives attended from QuarterNorth Energy LLC, Shell, Fletcher Technical Community College and Nicholls State University.
NextOp is a nonprofit organization that connects veterans and military members to career opportunities. Their goal is to bridge the gap between military and industries in need of diverse and skilled talent. According to the nonprofit, Danos Day is a unique event to the area.
Not only did attendees form valuable relationships with veterans in attendance, but they were also able to connect over breakfast and lunch, provided by Danos.
With nearly 30 in attendance, the event was a huge success, and Danos plans to host a similar event in Houston later this year.
“We plan to host Danos Day with NextOp in Texas to continue sharing with military and veterans about the education pathways and career opportunities in the oil and gas industry,” said event organizer and Human Resources Specialist Jessica Stegall. “The goal is to provide veterans with the tools to set them up for successful careers in the oil and gas industry.”
CEO Paul Danos said, “I am so proud of the whole team that pulled this off. When we can help our heroes AND help our industry solve the challenge of finding great people—that’s a win/win.”
Danos Day with NextOp is one step forward in our strategy to Set the Standard in regards to world-class workforce planning.
