After 42 years of dedicated service to Danos, Scott Boudreaux retired this month.
Scott started with Danos at the Gulf Dock in Leeville, Louisiana, under the supervision of Nolan Boudreaux. Scott has worked through some of Danos’ major project efforts including Hoover Diana for Exxon, Cooling Water Upgrades for Williams, PSV Upgrades for Williams in North Carolina, and in East Texas with the Midland assets.
In 2008, Danos recognized Scott for his commitment to high performance by naming him Employee of the Year. Second to Owner Hank Danos, Scott was the longest-standing employee at Danos.
Without a doubt, Scott will be missed by his coworkers and friends. Read what colleagues said below:
“I’ve never heard Scott tell me no or that he was too busy for me. He always gets the job done. He’s always willing to help and go above and beyond. I see Scott as one of Danos’s greatest assets, and it will be difficult for all of us to adjust to our daily lives here in Amelia without him. He will truly be missed." – Equipment and Materials Coordinator Hick Cheramie
“First memory of Scott that comes to mind is when we gave him the employee of the year award at a Safety Focus. I think we almost killed him by causing a heart attack. I’m not sure getting up in front of 200 people is his thing.” CEO Paul Danos
“I have worked with Scott on a lot of projects including the ones mentioned, and no matter what title he held, he was always willing to help others who needed it to get the job done.
It goes without saying that Scott has been a big part in helping the Danos Team be a success on any project he was on. We need to remember - it’s not just what you see a person do physically; it’s how that person’s effort affects what others do that should be recognized. If you lead by example, others will follow, and Scott’s efforts through the years have helped train and develop many others who have worked with him.
After 42 years of service, a long, healthy retirement is well deserved. P.S. He is a pretty good cook also.” – Construction Manager Johnny Fitch
Owner Hank Danos said the following: "It is difficult to say a simple thank you to someone who has traveled far and wide for 42 years delivering excellent service to our customers.
I remember the early days of Scott Boudreaux joining our team as a member of one of our oldest and most valuable customer locations, the Leeville, Louisiana shore base. He worked hard and began to develop his skills as a leader and equipment operator. Not long after, we asked him to lead a team to assist in the commissioning of a new deepwater asset in the Gulf of Mexico. He helped our customers define and implement procedures to operate and maintain this facility. This led to thirty years with the same customer at multiple locations.
After, his career was far from over. We asked Scott, and he agreed to go to many of our new and developing locations. You could say he became a Danos pioneer. Scott seemed confident and unafraid to go and help settle new frontiers for Danos.
There was something unique within Scott Boudreaux, the Cajun man. He managed to develop this uniqueness one job at a time until he had a 42-year career filled with great accomplishments. Thank you, Scott Boudreaux!"
